Haldane Martin designed the BOS Ice Tea Expo Stand in 2012.
They key design concept draws on a playful use of branding and packaging, as the iconic African ice tea brand is so well known for its bold, bright identity. A screen of long grass was created from stacked ice tea cans. Seating and tables were created out of cardboard to look like rocks in an African landscape. A long curved snake bench, also made from recycled packaging, was prototyped for the stand, designed to twist in between the clustered rock seating areas.
A vending machine activated by Twitter (created by Thingking) was also part of the stand design, along with large merchandising units shaped like ice tea boxes.
The stand was created for a travelling exhibition that went to The Green Expo at the CTICC in Cape Town. Elements were later repurposed in BOS’ office extension in Woodstock in 2014, which BOS again commissioned Haldane Martin to do the interior design.
